Por ese motivo, tiempo después, se desarrollaron nuevas mezclas, basadas en el verde de Hooker original, pero sustituyendo el amarillo de gutagamba por otros pigmentos no perecederos.
Así se crearon nuevos verdes de Hooker ‘permanentes’. Actualmente, se componen de ftalocianina como componente azul verdoso y de dos amarillos distintos, que dan lugar a dos verdes de Hooker diferentes. Un verde más claro y brillante —denominado verde de Hooker 1—, de tono hierba, elaborado con amarillo de Winsor, y otro más oscuro y profundo —verde de Hooker 2—, con amarillo de níquel.
